SATRA STM 566 Tensile testing machine

STM 566 Tensile testing machine image

Tensile testing is used in many industries for research, quality and process control. Tension, compression, peel, shear, tear, puncture and adhesion can all be tested.

SATRA has now introduced a new tensile testing machine (STM 566) rated up to 5,000N. This machine is a robust twin–column model with reliable mechanics incorporating digital software control. It delivers precision performance via high efficiency pre-loaded ballscrews, auto ranging high resolution load cells and digital AC servo drive. The STM 566 machine operates in tension and compression and provides an 800 per cent overload capacity without damaging the load cells.

The supplied software runs on customers’ computer systems, and is user–friendly with large display pages for data input. The program provides a particular strength to the machine operation, allowing pre-loading of a wide range of test methods and giving a range of options for exporting, storage and analysis of results. Ready-to-load software (specific to SATRA test methods) together with test-specific jaws can be provided for a wide range of tests.

The choice of specification and both the quality of components and machine build allows SATRA to offer the STM 566 machine with enhanced capability, reliability and durability. Taking advantage of the latest design techniques and modern components means that we are able to offer this machine at a lower price than our previous model.

Tensile testers represent a core part of the test facilities for many laboratories, either for quality testing or as part of process control. To find out how a new or replacement tensile tester could enhance your test capability, or to receive a quotation, contact Equipment Sales (
