Resistance of heel assemblies to repeated compression

SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the likelihood of structural or visually unacceptable damage occurring to the heel of a sole unit due to repeated compression in wear. The method is applicable to all types of cellular sole unit, heel assembly or sheet material.
PRINCIPLE
A test specimen is repeatedly compressed, at a constant rate, by a defined maximum force. After a fixed number of cycles the test is stopped and the test specimen is assessed visually for signs of damage.
