Test Method: SATRA TM168
Dimensional stability of footwear foreparts to warm humid conditions
December 1992
SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the likelihood of distortion occurring in the toe area of footwear due a change in shape of the toe puff caused by exposure to a warm humid environment. The method is particularly applicable to footwear with a bulbous toe but can be used with any footwear with a toe puff.
PRINCIPLE
A test shoe, containing a defined quantity of water, is placed in a warm humid environment for 24 hours. The shoe is then assessed subjectively for signs of distortion.
