Test Method: SATRA TM11
Pin holding strength of insole materials
January 1993
SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the force required to push the head of a standard pin through a material. The test is carried out with both wet and dry specimens. The method is mainly applicable to footwear insole backpart materials but can be used with all types of semi rigid sheet material.
PRINCIPLE
The maximum force required to push the head of a standard pin through a hole drilled in a test specimen is measured with a tensile testing machine. The test is carried out with one dry test specimen and one which has been soaked in water.
