Test Method: SATRA TM197
Shear properties of sheet materials
September 2002
SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the shear properties of a material while it is under a compression. The method is applicable to insock materials.
PRINCIPLE
Test specimens are bonded to metal plates to form a quadruple shear test assembly. A specified pressure, corresponding to the pressures in walking or running, is applied perpendicular to the bonded surfaces. The shear displacements produced by defined tensile forces are measured.
