Slider locking strength of slide fasteners

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the locking strength of a slide fastener slider. The method is applicable to all types of slide fastener that have a slider locking device.
PRINCIPLE
The slider is locked onto the chain of the slide fastener and the locking device subjected to a tensile force applied at 180 degrees to the locking device via the chain stringers. The force is increased until failure occurs.
