Water resistance of seams - cone test

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the resistance of sewn seams on waterproof fabrics to penetration by liquids at a constant pressure. The method is applicable to sewn seams on all waterproof fabrics.
PRINCIPLE
A cone formed from a seamed specimen of waterproof fabric is filled with a constantly maintained volume of water. The volume of water which has penetrated the seam after 5 minutes is measured.
