Loop wick test

SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the rate at which water is absorbed by a material by wicking, other than through a cut end. The method is applicable to threads, laces and similar materials in filament form.
PRINCIPLE
A test specimen is folded into a loop and suspended vertically with the loop immersed in a small quantity of water. At regular intervals, the extent to which the water has wicked up the test specimen is determined.
