Luggage corner impact strength - drop test

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the impact strength of loaded luggage. The method is applicable to all luggage (suitcases, bags, briefcases, holdalls, rucksacks etc).
PRINCIPLE
The luggage is loaded with contents of defined mass distributed as evenly as possible. After loading, the luggage is dropped twice onto each of its eight corners from a defined height. Any damage that has occurred is assessed visually on each corner after each individual drop. When the test is completed the whole product and any accessories are assessed visually for damage.
