Dimensional measurements of plastic heels

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the critical dimensions of slender plastic heels containing, in many cases, steel tension pin reinforcement. The method is applicable to both moulded plastic heels and heels removed from complete footwear.
PRINCIPLE
Dimensions of the heels are measured using appropriate measurement equipment. These dimensions include heel height, tip width, stem depth, tension pin internal and external diameters, tension pin length and distance between top of tension pin and heel seat.
