Seam slippage of woven fabrics

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the amount slippage of yarns at a sewn seam. The method is applicable to all woven fabrics used in upholstery and apparel. The method is not suitable for industrial fabrics such as beltings.
PRINCIPLE
A sewn specimen is clamped at right angles to the seam and a specified force is applied then reduced at which point the seam opening is measured.
