Determination of blocking resistance of coated materials

SCOPE
This test method is intended to determine the propensity of a coated material to adhere to itself. The method is applicable to all coated materials including coated fabrics and finished leathers. Method 1 is mainly applicable to coated fabrics, and Method 2 is mainly applicable to finished leather.
PRINCIPLE
The material under test is placed face to face in between glass plates under a set pressure and at a set temperature. Samples are removed and assessed for blocking.
Method 1 - Stacking - Samples are assessed visually for damage.
Method 2 - Weight drag - Samples are assessed by a weight lifting or not and visually assessed.
