Security of attachment of stones or inlays

SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the security of attachment of stones or inlays which have been cemented or otherwise clasped in decorative items, e.g. jewellery items and clothing/shoe trims.
PRINCIPLE
The item is dropped from a specified height onto a standard non-resilient surface. The item is then examined for signs of damage. It is recommended that at least three replicates of each item are assessed to ensure representative results are obtained.
