Test Method: SATRA TM351
Bottle incubation test
December 1996
SCOPE
The method is intended to determine the odour producing or odour reducing properties of a material. The method is applicable to all materials.
PRINCIPLE
A test specimen of the material to be assessed is placed in an artificial perspiration solution that has been inoculated with a soil suspension as a source of micro-organisms, and is then incubated at 30°C. At selected intervals the odour from the incubated solution is assessed subjectively, in comparison with a control solution, as a measure of the odour producing or odour reducing properties of the material.
