Test Method: SATRA TM416
Determination of film or coating adhesion to base material
October 1996
SCOPE
The method is intended to determine the resistance of a patent film or a coating to peeling and delamination. The method is applicable to all patent or coated leathers and coated fabrics where the coating strength is greater than the coating adhesion.
PRINCIPLE
The ends of test strips are wetted to initiate peeling of the film or coating. A tensile testing machine is used to measure the force required to continue peeling under wet or dry conditions.
