Test Method: SATRA TM438
Glove ergonomics: whole hand grip
August 2011
SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the grip properties of gloves (palm and finger parts) on dry and lubricated surfaces. This method is mainly applicable to non-absorbent gloves designed for dextrous work, but may be applied to any glove type.
PRINCIPLE
A subject is required to don the test glove, grip a cylinder with their whole hand and pull for a set distance against a load. The load is then released and the grip relaxed. The values of grip forces are measured throughout the test cycle. The subject also provides a subjective opinion of the gripping action of the glove materials.
