Test Method: SATRA TM112
Fatigue resistance of insole backparts and backpart components
July 2022
SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the resistance of a footwear component to repeated flexing. The method is mainly applicable to shanked-fibreboard or plastic insoles
and wedge heel units but can be used with any type of semi-rigid component.
PRINCIPLE
The heel end of a test specimen is moulded into a resin block which is then clamped in a test machine. The test specimen is repeatedly flexed by applying cyclic bending moments to the unclamped area. The test is terminated when the specimen fails.
