Test Method: SATRA TM130
Breakage of plastic lasts in bending test
January 1996
SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the risk of a last material breaking during shoe manufacture. The method is applicable to all plastic last materials.
PRINCIPLE
A notched test specimen is subjected to three point loading in a tensile machine until it breaks or bends without breaking. If breaking occurs the breaking force is determined. If required, the force per unit deformation is determined as a measure of rigidity.
