The continuing programme of live webinars presented by SATRA experts on a variety of key industry topics is proving very popular with members around the world. However, while hundreds of online attendees have taken advantage of this provision, the particular day and time of a broadcast may not be suitable for some members’ diaries.

Therefore, in addition to the regular live events, SATRA has created an archive of recordings of the webinars as well as supplementary video presentations on a number of key footwear industry issues, online access to which is reserved for member companies. This provision ensures that all members who were unable to watch the live online events can still benefit from the experience of SATRA’s experts and other industry figures by logging onto the dedicated website section – detailed below – whenever they choose.

The collection of recorded webinars covers a wide range of topics, including the following:

Two live webinars are scheduled for the near future. These sessions will be presented at 10:00 BST and repeated at 16:00 BST for delegates located in North and South America.

Thursday 30th March 2023 – ‘SATRA footwear training packages’. This webinar will outline the different footwear training packages available to SATRA members and help to identify the appropriate course for you or your team. It will consider the SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT), Basic Shoemaking Step-by-Step and our online Footwear Foundations courses, and explain the key features, content and delivery style of each. The presenters will also describe other SATRA footwear-related training packages and discuss how a bespoke programme tailored to specific needs can be requested.

Thursday 20th April 2023 – ‘Footwear construction advantages and disadvantages’. There are various established methods for making footwear, many of which have been proven over time to meet the expectations of the customer and the demands during wear. However, there are alternative, often simpler and more cost-effective ways to produce a similar product. This webinar – reserved for SATRA members – will review the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
