Milan trade fairs report successful editions

Over 48,000 delegates visited the shows.

The organisers of the Milan-based MICAM footwear show, MIPEL (for leather and fashion accessories), outerwear and Haute-à-porter event TheOneMilano, and HOMI Fashion&Jewels have announced that the recent editions were a ‘great success’ with more than 1,800 exhibitors showcasing their products and services to a total of 48,276 professional visitors. This represents an increase of 25 per cent over the previous events and is claimed to be testament to a recovery in the industries they represent.

International buyers are said to have responded particularly well, with nearly half of the delegates visiting from outside Italy. The best performing European nations were France, Germany, Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom, with registrations also being received from such distant lands as Japan, Kazakhstan and South Korea.

A number of Italian government representatives attended the shows, including ministers Daniela Santanché and Matteo Salvini, deputy minister Valentino Valentini, sub-secretaries Lucia Albano and Paola Frassinetti. MICAM Milano, MIPEL and TheOneMilano will next be held from 17th to 20th September 2023.
