Kathryn achieves SAFT qualification

Congratulations to Kathryn Dix-Oclaret from American Exchange Group, who recently passed her SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) examinations and has been awarded SAFT accreditation.

The SAFT qualification is recognised internationally and covers a number of key topics including ‘lasts, fitting and comfort’, ‘materials’, ‘testing’, ‘constructions and product design’, ‘risk assessment and quality assurance’, ‘industrial footwear’ and ‘production efficiency, costing and specifications’.

The course is open to all SATRA members and will next take place in the UK this Autumn and provisionally in the US from the end of September into October. Some SAFT modules will also be taught in Vietnam for the first time in July, including a new module focusing on footwear laboratory management, as described in the article 'SAFT course to be held in Vietnam'.
